'Fast and Furious' producer Neal H Moritz has confirmed that Paul Walker will not be brought back for 'Fast and Furious 8' via CGI.

Moritz said, "We don't have Paul anymore. His character... has moved on. But we feel like there's a lot still to be mined. That's where we're starting. We're really talking about the characters, where they all sit right now. It's a huge challenge,"

Jason Statham however confirmed he would returning to the film in a recent interview. Rumors are ride that Statham is set to feature as the antagonist in the upcoming sequel as well.

Paul Walker's sudden death in a car accident complicated the shoot for Fast and Furious 7. Thanks to help from his brother Cody and through the use of some innovative CGI effects in the film, the franchise were able to ensure that his character Brian O Connor remains alive.

While talking about the possibility of Fast and Furious 8, co-star Vin Diesel had earlier told MTV news, "Paul used to say that ['Fast & Furious'] 8 was guaranteed and, in some ways, when you're brother guarantees something, you have to make sure it comes to pass. So, if fate has it - fate, F8 - then you'll get it. 'Furious 7′ was for Paul; 8 is from Paul."
