It May Not be The Right Time To Install Android Lollipop On Nexus 5
Nexus 5 owners are reporting Wi-Fi related problems after installing Google's most-awaited Android Lollipop update.
It is a known fact that a new software release comes with few early bugs, be it iOS or Android. In the case of Lollipop, Android's latest software update, the tradition continues as some Nexus 5 owners are reporting problems connecting to Wi-Fi after updating the device. As if the installation process was any less challenging, the new Wi-Fi bug is the new subject for Lollipop errors surrounding Google's flagship devices.
Previously, Nexus 5 owners reported errors while installing the software. The installation of Lollipop was discontinued with a "missing system.img" error message on Nexus 5 and other devices. But a work-around for the error helped some users get past the error and load the new software on their smartphones but only to be welcomed with a new bug.
According to PhoneArena, the Wi-Fi bug affecting Lollipop-updated Nexus 5 devices was first reported last month. Google hasn't acknowledged or rolled out a fix for the problem, which continues to extend the thread with the latest post published on November 13. The publication also pointed that the Wi-Fi problem is the second major issue that has affected Android Lollipop. Prior to this, the software update drained the smartphone's battery when used on Wi-Fi, but the error has since been fixed.
The original report of the Wi-Fi bug filed by an Android developer explained the issue in depth. According to the complaint, the Nexus 5 running Lollipop failed to connect to a secure network even after entering the network password. Similar problems are being reported on Google's forum for reporting bugs within Android.
Google has no update on the issue other than just that the development team is working on a fix.
According to another report, Nexus 7 and Nexus 9 are also reporting similar errors.
