Taylor Swift and Nicki MInaj Twitter Feud: "Bad Blood" Singer Picks Fight With Rapper About MTV VMAs Nominations
Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj got engaged in a Twitter diss that has now been trending in social media with fans taking sides in either of the two celebrities.
The diss started when the Pink Friday rapper ranted why her song Anaconda was not nominated for the Best Choreography category, CNN reported.
"If I was a different 'kind' of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well," the queen of hiphop said.
"Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it."
"If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year," the rapper then tweeted which caught Swift's attention.
"@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.." the 26-year old singer hit back thinking the Tweet is aimed at her.
"Huh? U must not be reading my tweets. Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this. @taylorswift13" Minaj responded.
Aside from her rant about the recent VMAs, the rapper also shared her frustration with Tindal's recent downfall, Billboard reported.
"I'm so glad u guys get to see how this stuff works. Taylor took her music off spotify and was applauded. We launched Tidal & were dragged."
The topic has aroused attention from fans as well as celebrities who took sides for the Nicki vs Taylor fight by using the hashtags #TeamTaylor and #TeamNicki.
Kim Kardashian, Bruno Mars and Meek Mill have also posted Tweets that alluded to the ongoing VMA Awards diss.
The highly-pregnant 34-year old reality TV star posted "Imma let you finish but..." a line that Kanye West said at the MTV VMAs in 2009 while the Bad Blood singer is giving her acceptance speech for her victory.
However, the fashion icon/entrepreneur denied such accusations later on, BBC said.
"Wait wait I'm in Paris it's the middle of the night & I'm posting my Vogue Spain pics not having a clue what's going on in the music world."
"I'm not trying to shade anyone! That's not my style! I just thought that caption was perfect for that pic! Changing the caption now! #ironic"
