Cody Simpson, Selena Gomez Update: Aussie Singer says Hanging out with Bieber’s Ex can be ‘Annoying’

Are Cody Simpson and Selena Gomez just friends?

Rumors quickly surfaced that 18-year-old Australian singer and the 22-year-old "Good For You" singer were dating after they were seen getting ice cream together. Although the relationship was never confirmed, a new rumor is claiming that Simpson ended the relationship before things could even get serious because things got weird.

"I went through a phase where I was pretty good friends with Selena, and then it just got kind of weird, because I just try to be nice to everyone," Simpson revealed to DuJour magazine.

Simpson is also good friends with Gomez's ex, Justin Bieber. The singer, however, added that even though he has hung out with Bieber, they "actually live totally different lives."

Simpson also spoke to E! News about hanging out with Gomez.

"It is kind of [annoying], because on a daily basis, I don't hang out with celebs. All my close friends are normal dudes and then I will hang out with some girl who is a musician and everyone thinks that's what it's all about. Again, I like to be friends with everyone," he said when asked about what it is like to hang out with Gomez.

He added, "I'm sort of impartial to the whole thing and try to remain nice to everyone and not cause any bad blood or anything."

Simpson recently got out of a relationship with model, Gigi Hadid, who co-starred with Gomez in mutual friend, Taylor Swift's music video, "Bad Blood." The singer has stated that he is focusing on his music and his career.
