LA Lakers Trade Rumors: Lakers targeting Big Man Kevin Seraphin

The Los Angeles Lakers have been rebuilding a lot this offseason after a dismal year. Although the franchise has been moving in the right direction, especially after drafting point guard D'Angelo Russell and acquiring the 2015 NBA Sixth Man of the Year, Lou Williams, there is still more that the Lakers can do.

According to the latest reports, the Lakers might be interested in big man Kevin Seraphin. However, they will have to stay active in their pursuit if they do not want to lose him to other teams.

Marc Spears with Yahoo! Sports reported that the Washington Wizards and the Dallas Mavericks, who were just spurned by center DeAndre Jordan, are interested in Seraphin.

Seraphin, who is just 25-year-old, would add depth to the Lakers. With the Wizards last season, he averaged 6.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in 15.6 minutes. Although the Wizards remain in the mix to sign Seraphin, they are reportedly not too invested in bringing him back.

Jorge Castillo with the Washington Post wrote:

"Mark Cuban and Co. are in desperate need of a replacement and had reportedly made Seraphin part of their contingency plan once they realized Jordan was having second thoughts. They have about $18 million cap room and playing time to offer. Kevin Seraphin isn't DeAndre Jordan but unless some more unexpected wavering happens, the Mavericks are stuck.

There's a slim chance Seraphin, 25, could return to Washington. The team lacks young big men and could use another one after acquiring wing depth in Jared Dudley, Gary Neal and Alan Anderson. But the Wizards have conducted business this summer under the assumption that Seraphin would move on."

Seraphin has previously stated that he would like to be a starter. However, if he goes to one of the teams listed by Spears, his chances of starting are very unlikely.
