Caitlyn Jenner Receives Arthur Ashe Courage Award From ESPN
Caitlyn Jenner, before her transformation to being glam and beautiful, was a former Olympic athlete. And because of her courage to stand for her recent gender transformation, ESPN bestowed on her the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.
According to Time, ESPN's decision has been criticized for its validity, some calling it a 'crass exploitation play' too boost the network's ratings and popularity.
However, two of the network's big bosses, ESPYs co-executive producer Maura Mandt and ESPN senior vice president Connor Schell defended the former athlete in an interview.
Bruce Jenner could have easily gone off into the sunset as this American hero and never have dealt with this publicly," Mandt said in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
"That is what the Arthur Ashe Courage Award is about, somebody from the athletic community who has done something that transcends sport," she added.
To prepare herself for the prestigious 2015 ESPYs on July 15 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the reality TV father is said to have allocated three days to look her best during the awards night, Hollywood Life said.
"She's getting done up to the nines. She's getting the manicure, the pedicure, the tan, the [beauty] facial, a fresh extension. This is a full on beauty assault that will go on from now until the minute she steps onto that red carpet," the insider said.
As of the moment, the 65-year old celebrity has not yet decided on her gown for the event.
"One room is filled with gowns. Caitlyn is "still trying to decide which dress to wear. It's a huge decision," the source said.
Meanwhile, Kris Jenner's ex continued to spread positive vibes in her website CaitlynJenner.com, Mail Online reported.
In a recent blog post, Caitlyn shared a tip for Day 1 saying "Stop Bullying Today."
She also told her followers that her gender transformation is a 'fantastic' and 'liberating' experience.
