Same Sex Marriage News: Jennifer Hudson Surprises Gay Couple In Their Wedding; Offers Song For Them
Jennifer Hudson made Chris and Scott Lindsey's wedding extra special by giving a surprise performance at the wedding's reception, the W Dallas Victory Hotel on July 8.
According to Huffington Post, after the exchange of vows, the couple was informed that Hudson, being the ambassador of the Turn It Up For Change campaign (TIUFC) is sending them wedding greetings through a video.
However, the biggest surprise came when, after the video, the songstress, appeared to them after a swirl of curtains at the center stage. She then sang a lively version of "I Still Love You", a track included in her newest album JHUD and is also featured in the TIUFC campaign.
The song is said to have fit the occasion as it is about a father finally accepting his son's identity after the latter marries with another man.
The gay couple talked about the experience with Buzzfeed via Essence and said Hudson's presence makes the wedding exciting and memorable.
"We had been told she would be filming a video message. That, in itself, was exciting ...and then the curtain dropped and there she was," Chris Lindsey said.
"How amazing that we were able to dance with Jennifer Hudson at our wedding, not just to her song! Her presence showed us and the world how important the issue of marriage equality is," he added.
A picture of Chris and Scott's wedding can be seen in the singer's Instagram, US Magazine said.
She captioned the photo saying, "Congrats to Chris and Scott! They said girl where the hell u come from!"
