'The Godfather' house for sale for $2.9 Million
If you're a huge fan of "The Godfather" and are currently looking for some real estate, then why not snap up the mansion that was featured in the hit movie. The New York City mansion is up for grabs for just anyone willing to pay the $2.89 million price tag.
The Staten Island Advance reports that the house's exterior was used in the 1972 mob classic. The current owner has even revamped some of the decor to resemble the fictional house's interior.
The 6,248-square-foot mansion, which sits on a 24,000-square-foot open expanse, provided the backdrop to a number of memorable scenes for the Corleone clan.
The Norton family, who owned it for nearly 60 years, were approached by Paramount Pictures in 1970. They found a buyer in 2012 for $1.687 million.
The interior was renovated in 2012, mixing stately moldings and built-ins with contemporary appliances and finishes. The five-bedroom, eight-bath house also features two offices, a gym, playroom and four-car garage.
"Foyer, living room, entertainers dream gourmet eat-in kitchen with a breakfast area, stately formal dining area, great room that boasts custom moldings, built-in coffered ceilings, two offices, gym, playroom, two fireplaces, the basement features an English pub and "Man Cave" area with a game room, storage room with a 3/4 bath, 4 car garage, gunite saltwater pool, infrared grill, security system, sound system, intercom, radiant heat, and NAT gas generator," according to the house listing description.
