Jim Carrey Picture Mishap: Comedian Sorry for Tweeting Picture of Autistic Child Without Permission

The famous comedian and actor Jim Carrey who stole the hearts of millions across the world, did something on Twitter that did not quite match with his "funny" persona.

Carrey posted a picture of Alex Echols, a child with autism and also another condition called tuberous sclerosis, on his Twitter page to support his claim that vaccines are to blame for autism and many other developmental problems, The Guardian reported.

On his post, along with the picture of the boy, Carrey said: "A trillion dollars buys a lot of expert opinions. Will it buy you? TOXIN FREE VACCINES, A REASONABLE REQUEST!"

Later the family of the child claimed that Carrey was "mocking" the child and explicitly stated that his condition had nothing to do with the vaccines, according to The Guardian. The mother of the child, Karen Echols, said in a direct tweet to the actor: "Please remove this photo of my son. You do not have permission to use his image."

After the mother's tweet, Carrey posted an apology on his twitter page: "I'd like to apologize to the Echols family and others for posting a pic of their kids without permission. I didn't mean to cause them distress.

Although the supposed link between the MMR vaccine and autism did not scientifically hold up to be factual, there are many families across the United States that chose not to vaccinate their children, especially in the state of California, but a recent change in law aims to end this trend by making vaccination obligatory.

Carrey has been outspoken about the new California legislation that banishes personal, religious exemptions to school vaccine requirements. However, it is not quite sure if the actor is against the vaccination practice itself or the "toxic" ingredients that are usually found in vaccines such as mercury and aluminum. His other tweets supports the latter.
