NBA Free Agent Rumors: LaMarcus Aldridge courted by Spurs Tim Duncan
LaMarcus Aldridge, one of the biggest free agents this year, will reportedly meet with several teams. Although the All-Star will visit many teams, the latest rumors suggest that the Spurs are the frontrunners with veterans Tim Duncan and Tony Parker actively recruiting Aldridge.
Marc Spears with Yahoo! Sports wrote:
"Tim Duncan will join Tony Parker and Gregg Popovich as part of the San Antonio Spurs' contingent when they meet with Portland Trail Blazers free agent LaMarcus Aldridge on Wednesday morning in Los Angeles, a source told Yahoo Sports...The Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and the Dallas Mavericks, Toronto Raptors and Phoenix Suns are among Aldridge's suitors, but a source close to the situation said the Spurs are currently the frontrunner."
Duncan's willingness to recruit Aldridge indicates that the 39-year-old is ready to commit another year to the Spurs. Duncan will become a free agent this summer. He has not officially announced his plans.
Aside form the Spurs, Aldridge will meet with the Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns.

Each team has key players that can persuade Aldridge. The Knicks' Carmelo Anthony has reportedly already called Aldridge while the Lakers are trying to entice Aldridge with recently drafted point guard D'Angelo Russell. Sources added that Aldridge is not expected to re-sign with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Aldridge averaged 23.4 pints, 10.2 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in the regular season.
