Josh Duggar Latest Update: Family Protecting Him From Suicide Amid Child Molestion Scandal
Josh Duggar's family members are worried that he might try and take his own life following his child molestation scandal.
Josh who is a devout Christian, is worried that his reputation has now changed forever and is said to be battling severe depression.
"Josh has seen his world and his family's world crumble," said a source via Hollywood Life June 24. "And he knows that it's all his fault. He can never rebound himself from this. He is hiding away, leaving his loved ones fearing the worst: [that] he will do something drastic."
Dugar has maintained a low profile since the news of his child molestation scandal surfaced. He however resurfaced on Father's Day to thank his dad for his show of support and also thanked his wife Anna for their wedding anniversary a few days back.
Even as he continues to put a brave face in public, sources say that Josh has isolated himself at home. He is feeling remorse for his past misdeeds and is also guilty of tarnishing his family's reputation.
"The longer he stays isolated, the more depressed he gets," said a family insider. "That has his loved ones terrified for him. They fear that shame is too much."
The Duggar family's hit reality show '19 Kids and Counting' has been under attack for weeks after Josh was accused of fondling six underage girls when he was 14.
In a police report uncovered by InTouch, it was revealed that Josh had fondled the breasts and genitals of girls which included his sisters Jill and Jess.
His father Jim Duggar told the police that Josh had sought forgiveness from the victims and they had 'forgiven' him.
Meanwhile, his sisters are furious at the media for exaggerating the issue and have said that their brother is not a rapist.
"I do want to speak up in his defense against people who are calling him a child molester or a pedophile or a rapist," said Jessa. "That is so overboard and a lie really. People get mad at me for saying that, but I can say this because I was one of the victims."
