Newly Released El Capitan Beta Code Hints New iMac, Bluetooth Remote
Apple recently released the second developer preview of its upcoming desktop operating system - El Capitan, and according to reports its has hidden Easter eggs hidden, which hint at possible new products on the way.
According to 9to5Mac, that unearthed some very telling references to future hardware, including one that adds support for an Apple-made 4,096 x 2,304 resolution display. This might mean that the company is planning a 21.5-inch Retina iMac.
References to four new AMD Radeon R9 processors (M380, M390, M395 and M395X) are also found in the beta, which could indicate additional Mac models or 4K iMac upgrade options, 9to5Mac notes.
Apart from new iMacs, Apple is also working on a new Bluetooth Remote Control. The new piece found in new El Capitan release, integrates a dedicated Bluetooth wireless chip, can connect with devices via an infrared sensor, and includes a Multi-Touch trackpad with inertial scrolling support.
Notably, the file named "AppleBleutoothRemote.kext" did not exist in earlier, public versions of OS X, nor the OS X 10.10.4 Yosemite release that is also in beta.
However, there's nothing in the file that can confirm what the remote is for, but we would like to believe it's for upcoming Apple TV's companion. According to reports, company's streaming device might come with a bigger, touchpad-integrated remote.
