NBA Rumors: LaMarcus Aldridge Expected to Leave Blazers in Free Agency, Spurs and Lakers are Top Choices

Impending free agent LaMarcus Aldridge is not expected to re-sign with the Portland Trail Blazers, sources close with the All-Star told ESPN.com's Chris Broussard.

"He's gone," one source said. "There's a 99.9 percent chance that he's out of Portland."

According to the sources, Aldridge has several reasons for wanting to depart from the Blazers, a team he has been with since he entered the league in 2006. They claimed that Aldridge does not see Portland as a top choice for many free agents, which means overall improvement remains limited. The forward also reportedly feels underappreciated by the organization and is ready for a new environment.

Aldridge can expect a lot of offers once he hits the free agent market on July 1. The list of teams that he would consider signing with are the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks.

Sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein that the Lakers are moving up on Aldridge's list. However, Aldridge's decision will most likely be affected by whom the Lakers select in the draft, which takes player tonight, June 25. It could also depend on whether or not the Lakers can get DeMarcus Cousins from the Sacramento Kings.

Aside from the Lakers, sources believe that Aldridge's number one choice is the Spurs.

"He has tons of respect for coach [Gregg] Popovich," one source told Broussard. "And he thinks highly of their organization and front office."

Teams and free agents can sign contracts starting on July 8.
