Nickelback Cancels Tour; Chad Kroeger Needs Vocal Surgery
Bad news for Nickeback fans. The rock band is said to cancel their second leg of the 2015 No Fixed Address North American as band vocalist Chad Kroeger has to take a break and undergo a medical surgery.
According to their official Nickelback site, Kroeger has recently been diagnosed with an operable cyst on his voice box and he has to be ready for his operation scheduled to take place in three weeks. The doctor also advised the vocalist to take a break from singing to pave way for complete recovery.
The announcement, however, assured fans that they will be reimbursing their tickets.
"I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer and I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans" shared Chad. "I am relying on my doctor and his team to help get my voice back in good form as quickly as possible," the 4-year old musician earlier announced.
In a Youtube video, bandmates Ryan Peake and Mike Kroeger also extended their apologies for fans who are excited to see them live further saying that 'these things happen' but they are hoping to 'get back in the road as soon as they can.'
The band also posted their official announcement on their Twitter account, USA Today reports.
"Due to a medical emergency, we have to cancel the remaining dates of the North American #NoFixedAddressTour."
Meanwhile, Rock Fest organizers who previously invited Nickelback are looking for a replacement for the rock band, The Chippewa Herald said.
The Canadian rock band is supposedly to perform on July 17 at 11pm Friday at the Cadott festival.
Other bands who have confirmed their attendance in the show are Shinedown, Judas Priest and Avenged Sevenfold.
