This Tiny Device Promises To Turn Your iPhone Into a DSLR

Quality of pictures taken with iPhones are good but they are not better than DSLRs. DxO hopes to change that by unveiling a clever pocket sized DSLR-quality camera called DxO One.

The device would connect to a Lightning connector on iPhones and iPads and will turn your phone into a high-quality shooter. Once you connect it with your iPhones or iPads, it will become your viewfinder.

Notably, DxO One can also used like a standalone camera.

DxO One costs $599, and while that may seem pricey for what you might think of as an iPhone accessory, it is meant to compete against full-sized "mirrorless" type cameras, USA Today noted.

Pictures taken by DxO One can be transferred to Camera Roll from where users can edit them share across as is possible with images taken with the iPhone or iPad's own cameras. There's also an option to store images on DxO One's own microSD card though.

The iPhone/iPad accessory doesn't have its own flash but can leverage the iPhone flash.

For a limited time, DxO is including its own image processing software with the price of the camera, including software that lets you process RAW files.

The camera is due for launch in September 2015.
