Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson News Update: Mom Denies Alleged Statements About Stewart's Sexuality
Days after Stewart's mother spilled the beans about her relationship with assistant Alicia Cargile, the actress appeared onstage alongside 'Twilight' author Stephanie Meyer at the Women in Film + Lucy Awards even as she avoided the red carpet.
Kristen Stewart's mother Jules confirmed the news of her daughter dating Cargile to the Sunday Mirror while saying, "I've met Kristen's new girlfriend, I like her. What's not to accept? She's a lovely girl."
She also spoke about her daughter's ex relationship with Robert Pattinson.
"They were a great couple, but she's 25 years old and I'd like to see her have a lot more life experience before she chooses someone to settle down with. I'm very sad that Kristen and Robert didn't have a chance to be alone together, they had to have the whole world with them and all the public stuff ruined everything, life became overwhelming."
On Tuesday however Jules denied having ever spoken about her daughter to the paper.
She said, "I spoke to [reporter] Sharon Feinstein about my film 'K-11' that has been put on display in the Hollywood Museum," Jules said in a statement, according to Us Weekly. "It's currently there under the LGBT banner on the third floor. She also asked me about my views on gay rights, which I was happy to express. Then we talked briefly about the fundraiser I am hosting for TheWolfConnection.org. Never ever did we discuss Kristen!"
Following Jules' denial, Feinstein said, "I am aware that Ms. Jules Stewart has stated that her interview with me has been used out of context, that she never discussed her daughter or her daughter's relationship. That is simply incorrect," Feinstein wrote on her blog Tuesday. "I have reported the story as discussed and memorialized during our lengthy and cordial formal interview, which took place on Thursday 11th June. I am disappointed and saddened by her statements to the contrary. This was a very positive story and one told by a loving parent. Any statements to the contrary are simply not supported and not true."
