There is fury in a British waterpark in which a one-night "sisters-only" event will be held on August 9. Bikinis will be banned and visitors have been ordered to cover up in "Islamically appropriate" clothing, according to express.

There will be staff deployed to guard the entrance to the waterpark to ensure that men do not enter the park.

There is more on the anvil. WaterWorld in Stoke-on-Trent will black out windows and set up a prayer room aimed at Muslim women.

Female lifeguards will be patrolling the park through the event, which has sparked a lot of complaints. The staff will be deployed to "guard" the gates to "make sure that no males enter the facility".

An invitation will be given out to the "Sisters Only Funday", asking attendees to cover their "awrah" (nudity) with full-length jogging bottoms as well as a dark-coloured t-shirt.

Conservative MP Philip Hollobone said: "I imagine there would be a lot of outrage if the boot was on the other foot and swimmers were told they had to dress appropriately in respect of Christians. I don't see how this is different."

However, there is a plan from protesters to go on a strike outside the area. In reaction, WaterWorld owner Mo Chaudry said: "I'm astonished that we have been targeted. We feel we've been victimised for offering something that we feel there is a demand for."

Another spokesman added: "We pride ourselves in having the adaptability and diversity to cater to demands of our guests. This is a female-only event and is not specific to any ethnic or religious group."
