The US Democrats should first "create a dragon" before trying to defeat it, said Russian Foreign Ministry's head of the Press and Information Department, Maria Zakharova.

"That means that to defeat the dragon, the Democrats first need to create it---what they have successfully done in recent years," she said, according to sputnik. Zakharova believes that Clinton is just using "50-year-old PR technology."

Almost 60 percent of US citizens believe that Hillary Clinton has no honesty or trustworthiness, according to a recent CNN/ORC poll. Yet, the poll also showed that she leads the Democratic field by a wide margin, with 60 percent of likely voters agreeing to support her.

"No other country on earth is better positioned to thrive in a XXI century. No other country is better equipped to meet traditional threats from countries like Russia, North Korea and Iran, and to deal with the rise of new powers like China," said Clinton, in an address on Saturday, according to irna.

The ex-US State Secretary and former first lady said that the United States is prepared to fight emerging threats as cyberattacks and terror networks, especially the Islamic State group's expansion. "As your president I'll do whatever it takes to keep America safe," she said.

It was on April 12 that Clinton had announced she was standing for US presidentship in 2016 and launched her presidential campaign.
