5 Seconds of Summer Guitarist Michael Clifford Suffers Burns While Performing
5 Seconds of Summer has to stop in the middle of their Wembley gig as the band's guitarist, Michael Clifford's caught on fire while performing.
According to 9news, the guitarist got near a pyrotechnic display burning half of his face and hair.
A fan managed to take a video of the incident which showed Clifford's hair in flames after he crossed the jet of flame while performing the band's "She Looks So Perfect."
In the video, Clifford is quick to avoid from the scene, went to the backstage to get some towels to put off the fire on his head.
At first, the rest of Michael's bandmates did not seem to notice the incident but at one point, they have to end their performance.
Later on, the band's drummer, Ashton Irwin addressed the crowd informing them of their decision not to continue their performance as Clifford was hurt. He later assured them that the young guitarist would be okay, This Local London said.
"Just want to say thank you so much for coming. He is OK. You guys have been the best crowd we asked for tonight," Irwin announced.
Hours after the show, the 5 Seconds of Summer Guitarist posted a photo on Twitter showing the harmed half part of his face now covered with bandage, The Independent reports.
And to assure fans that he is okay, Michael gave a thumbs up despite his injury.
"What the f*cks up. Sorry I couldn't finish the encore, but at least I look like two face. Thanks for worrying every1," he captioned the photo.
"Hello world. I'm doing OK :) thanks for worrying!" he also posted on Instagram.
