Benedict Cumberbatch And Sophie Hunter Warmly Welcomes First Borne Son A Day After Actor Received Queen’s Award
Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are now official parents as they welcome their first-borne baby boy on Saturday.
"Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son. We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during these next few precious weeks," his reps told USA Today.
No further details are available as of the moment.
The 'Cumberbaby' was born a day after the Sherlock Holmes star received his award from Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the performing arts and charity, Denver Post said.
Before this prestigious award, the 38-year old actor has also made a name for his portrayal of one of the forefathers of the computer, Alan Turing in the Imitation Game. His role as Sherlock in the TV series has also contributed to his rising fame all through these years.
Cumberbatch and his spouse Sophie Hunter, who has been notorious for keeping details of their personal lives under wraps, first announced the coming of their baby on November last year two months after their engagement, Vanity Fair reports.
"I am delighted to confirm that Benedict and Sophie are expecting their first child," the actor's rep once said.
The couple married on February 14, months after the announcement, at the Isle of Wight in England, a private ceremony participated with their closest family members and friends.
It can also be remembered that Benedict and Cumberbatch had made the announcement for their engagement brief and simple in the "Forthcoming Marriages" section of The Times in November, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
