Paul Wept When His Bride Toni Walked Down The Wedding Aisle

At last, Paul Soriano wept. For more than seven years his fiancée, Toni Gonzaga, felt that he was not as important as her career was. But finally, she walked down the aisle on their wedding day, June 12, according to abs-cbnnews. Gonzaga, who wore a glittering Vera Wang gown and looked like a dream, was accompanied by her parents -- Carlito and Crisanta - right to the altar of a Taytay church, Rizal, Philippines, which had witnessed many milestones in her life.

Paul wore a Hugo Boss suit, and broke down when he married Toni after her parents, who had been protecting her, gave her in marriage to him. He had followed the rules imposed on their relationship for years.

June 12 is not only the eighth-year anniversary as a couple, but also the day that Paul Soriano and Toni Gonzaga (a.k.a Celestine Gonzaga) become husband and wife at 4.30 in the afternoon.

"So they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate," as Toni aptly puts it, quoting a biblical passage in one of their pre-nup photos posted on Instagram, according to pep.ph.

Toni acknowledged, during her wedding, that he had been patient for long, through the past eight years, and did not travel with her, and was content to play second fiddle.

"Every time I would ask you, 'Why are you choosing to stay with me?' You would simply answer, 'Because I love you.' For eight years, you have fought for your position in my life, and there were times when I would see you get tired. But there was never a time you gave up."

Soriano told his bride: "I love you so much. I'm all yours. I'm going to protect you, and I'm going to do my best to give you that love that your parents gave you. I know your parents love you so much... I will do my best to love you like they did for 31 years."

Fans of the couple can look forward to an extended look of the nuptials as ABS-CBN airs on Saturday, June 13, "Perfect Together: Paul and Toni's Wedding Special" after "Maalaala Mo Kaya" at 10 p.m.
