Ingrid Nilsen, who has developed quite the following on YouTube, has come out as gay in a new and very emotional video uploaded on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old makeup guru has generated around 3.3 million devoted subscribers since she started uploading videos in 2009. In this clip, Nilsen told her devoted fans, as her eyes welled up:

“I guess I'm just going to get right to it. There's something that I want you to know. That something is, I'm gay. It feels so good to say that. It feels so good. This moment is real and it's here and I've been waiting for this a long time. I am sitting here today because I care about you guys."

Nilsen continued and talked about how she remembered being attracted to girls at the age of four but as she grew older, she started to bury her sexuality due to societal pressures.

The Internet star also addressed her previous relationship with men. She explained that although she cares about them a lot, she was never in love with them before adding that her most recent boyfriend will be her very last.

"I eventually realized and came to terms with the fact that I will never be able to fully give myself to a man. In a real relationship, it's a two way deal. It's not one-sided," she said. "Both people are worthy of a full life and love."

At the end of the 20-minute video, Nilsen signed off with a positive message.

She said, "I'm proud of who I am and I'm not going to apologize for who I am anymore. This is the life I've always lived in my head and now it's real, and I can't believe it's real. I've just dreamed about taking this piece of me inside that cabinet and putting it in that space it's always has inside of me. I'm giving myself my best chance and so should you."

Aside from YouTube, Nilsen was also a onetime judge on Project Runway: Threads.
