Miley Cyrus’ New Song Update Is ‘Nightmare’ about Liam Hemsworth? [LISTEN]
Miley Cyrus' new song, "Nightmare" has leaked and it sure sounds like the 22-year-old singer is talking about her ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth.
In this song, which may or may not appear on her follow-up album to 2013's Bangerz, Cyrus goes back to her "synth-heavy, rock-tinged roots," the RollingStone reported. In this very upbeat track, which is similar to the kind of music she was making before her Bangerz days, Cyrus sings:
"Hey-ey feels like i'm asleep but i'm awake/In this dream i never see your face/I'm just a step behind/Hey-ey can't remember why you ran away/Pinch me cause i know its my mistake/I wanna see your eyes/I woke up in another life/When nothing's really dangerous/And everything is black and white/And no one even knows."
Several reports are already speculating since the track was leaked on Spin.com that it is about her relationship with "The Hunger Games" actor, Hemsworth. However, Cyrus has not talked much about her new music. In Paper, Cyrus talked a little bit about making the music but not so much about the actual music.
She said, "They're like, 'Don't make it too weird, don't make it avant-garde; you can't go from Miley to Björk!'
The article added that Cyrus has mostly been working on this new album in her garage and has been a lot of the work on her own.
"I don't have to have writers, I don't have to have f***ing producers in there. Mike Will [Mike Will Made It] will text me a beat, and I'll go in my studio and work on it by myself," she revealed.
Aside from working with Will, who produced her previous album, ILoveMakonnen told MTV that he helped write a few songs for her.
"It's almost like a Grammy nomination song," Makonnen said. "It's kind of heartfelt, and almost country. It's gonna be deep when it comes out. It's definitely not like the clubby type of poppy record. It's more like a timeless, heartfelt record that's gonna be picked up in movies and shit. Girls are gonna cry over their ex-boyfriends to it, and the same for guys crying over their girl."
There is currently no release date for Cyrus' upcoming album.
