Benedict Cumberbatch Relationship News: Actor Shares His New Life With Wife Sophie Hunter
Benedict Cumberbatch seeks refuge in the peaceful depths of the sea and go scuba diving when pressures in the movie industry turn very overwhelming.
"When it's possible, I get into a plane and fly off to a place where I can go diving. There's nothing I find more peaceful than being underwater," the 37-year old actor told German Lufthansa magazine via TV3.
Further, the award-winning actor believes that rejection is a common thing in the industry and has to have to deal with it impersonally.
I've learnt that with this job, you can't spend too much time thinking about the little things. You don't have any control over some things anyway. I learnt that very quickly, when I didn't get a job for six months after finishing drama school, the actor shared.
In a recent post in Cumberbatchweb, an essay describing the actor's holiday in the Seychelles, East Africa talks about his excitement in Adam's Apple, the dive spot.
"Diving is like meditation: the serenity of the weightlessness, the buoyancy that enables you to swim with the fish, the noise of the slow inhaling and exhaling of pressurised air, the fascinating landscape of coral and rock on the seabed, and the inhabitants of this otherworldly space. Over the next couple of days I swam with giant barracudas, white-tipped reef sharks, humphead parrot fish, chocolate dips, lobsters, turtles, angel fish and stingrays. For my money, the variety of dive sites and sea life in the Seychelles is on a par with both Cuba and Mozambique," reads the essay.
The Imitation Game actor's passion for diving is currently nourished as he lives a 'relatively low-stress' life with wife Sophie Hunter who is currently conceiving her first child with the actor, Design & Trend reports.
"I think what children do is enhance your life, they don't inhibit it. They don't limit it, they give you inspiration and depths of understanding of the human condition and what it is to be on this planet and what our purpose is, that goes well beyond anything a childless actor could hope for, he once said in an interview with ET Canada as mentioned by Design & Trend.
