Facebook Improves Location Sharing In Its Messenger App
An example of bad user interface is Facebook Messenger's location sharing button: a little arrow in the text box. Accidentally tap it and you've just sent your location to the person you're chatting to.
However, this is being worked upon as the social networking service unveiled a new approach.
"Now you can choose to explicitly send a map of your location or another particular place as a separate message," Stan Chudnovsky, head of product for Messenger, wrote in an announcement.
There's no more that little location-sharing button in the text box and to share your location you need to explicitly specify by tapping the More icon (three dots).
"With this update, you have full control over where and how you share your location information," Chudnovsky said.
Recently, it was revealed that Facebook was tracking users by default.
