NBA Playoffs: LeBron James says he is in his Best Form ever Heading into a Final
Two-time champion and a four-time NBA MVP LeBron James believes that he is at his best form ever heading into a final.
Dave McMenamin with ESPN.com reported that James said, "I think if you put it all together, yeah. If you put everything together as far as my mind, my body, my game. If you put everything in one bottle, this is probably the best I've been."
James is preparing to play in his fifth straight NBA finals on Thursday when the Cleveland Cavaliers face the Golden State Warriors in Oakland, California. Throughout the postseason, James has been leading his injured Cavaliers team.
In the first three round of play, he is averaging 27.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.3 blocks. In the conference finals against the best team of the Eastern Conference, the Atlanta Hawks, James averaged 30.3 points, 10.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists in four-games.
James, however, was not the only Cavalier to step up after Kevin Love sustained a season-ending shoulder injury. James Jones, J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert and Tristan Thomas have all stepped up to the plate while point guard Kyrie Irving have been sidelined due to injuries.
"They see me every day, and I happen to be alongside those guys and I'm just trying to do whatever it takes to help our team win," James said. "It's great to know when your teammates appreciate what you do and I just try to give it all back to them as best I can."
Despite James' confidence, he is not ready to say that this is his best year just yet until after a team is announced the 2015 NBA Champions.
Game 1 of the Warriors-Cavaliers series is on Thursday, June 4 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
