Microsoft Windows 10 Release Date Confirmed For July 29: Five Things You Should Know About The Upcoming Windows OS

Windows 10 is releasing on July 29, Microsoft has finally confirmed the roll-out. The new OS will be offered as free upgrade to users of Windows 7 and 8.1 but those running pirated versions will not get an upgrade.

Here are five things that you should known about Windows 10:

Enhanced User Experience

New Windows 10 will come with Live Tile Animation for the start menu. The OS will also support high DPI displays.

Continuum

Like Apple's Continuity Feature, Windows 10 will also come with a feature called Continuum. The idea is, you can pick your work from a Windows Phone or tab to a Windows desktop right where you left off.

Cortana

Cortana is now integrated with the new Windows 10. It will also have a split-view where features like Notebook, Reminders, Feedback have been placed. Users can also ask Cortana for a joke.

Music And Video, Xbox App

Microsoft has included some universal apps, equivalent to Apple's OS X, that comes loaded with iTunes, Movie-maker, the Photos app, etc. These include Music and Video Preview apps.

Apps and Developers

With Windows 10, Microsoft is aiming at one billion new users. Thus, the company is making it easier for Android and iOS apps to run on Windows 10. Recently, the Redmond-giant released four new Software Developer Kits (SDKs) which will support apps written in Web, .Net and Win32, Android C++/Java and Apple iOS Objective C, and allow developers to bring their apps to all Windows 10 platforms.
