Inbox by Gmail Available Without Invite, Undo Sending an Email, Deep Links and Many Other Features Added
At the ongoing annual developer's conference, Google also announced that its standalone email client based on Gmail, Inbox is open to all for download. This means if you've been waiting to use the Inbox by Gmail but haven't received any invitation, now is the time.
The search engine giant also added a good amount of updates to the app. A new Trip Bundles feature clubs all the emails about a trip into a single bundle, be it emails related to flights, hotels or cabs.
The app has also gotten new smart reminders that will prompt you to set a reminder automatically when someone commissions you to do a task in an email, which will sync with Google Keep.
New update would also allow developers to embed deep links to apps into emails, which means that the links will open the app directly, instead first opening a webpage.
Another notable feature include undoing sending an email within the first 10 seconds of hitting the send button. "We think about Gmail and Inbox differently. Gmail is our best-in-class email product and we want to keep it that way," said Shalini Agarwal, Senior Product Manager for Inbox, Google.
