The Houston Texans will be the star on the next season of HBO's "Hard Knocks," multiple sources reported. The Texans are expected to make an official announcement soon.

"Hard Knocks" is a reality sports documentary series that is produced by HBO and NFL Films. The series gives fans an insight into one NFL team's preparation to start of the season, which includes training camp.

The series has been on the air since 2001. In last season's show, which was centered on the Atlanta Falcons, the Texans and its star J.J. Watt made a cameo. The team had hosted the Falcons during training camp. The series also delves into the staff and players' personal lives.

Watt is expected to steal the show. The defensive lineman is one of the league's most powerful and strong players.

The series has previously covered the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets. It featured the Dallas Cowboys and the Cincinnati Bengals twice.

Teams can only refuse to be on the show if they have acquired a new coach, have been to the playoffs within the past two season and if they have been the main subject of the show within the past 10 years. The Texans do not fit any of these criteria.

The Texans have been approached before to do the show. However, the coach at the time, Gary Kubiak, refused.

The Texans missed the postseason last year by just one game. They finished with a 9-7 record.
