Android Auto is finally here and the first car featuring it is 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The in-car infotainment system was first announced at Google I/O 2014.

"Android Auto aligns with Hyundai's core interior design principles of safety, intuitiveness and simplicity," said Dave Zuchowski, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America. "We launched this highly anticipated feature on our best-selling Sonata, adding to our promise of value. With the launch of Android Auto, we provide more owners with the experience of cutting-edge technology."

Customers need to select the $4,100 "tech package" option for Android Auto and those who already have the Sonata with the tech package installed will be able to head to their local dealer to have Android Auto freely activated, TechTimes reported.

The Wired, in a review, called it 'the best of its kind.'

"The system is well designed for use in a car. The menus are stripped down to what you need and what seems safest while driving: Music and navigation on the screen, calls and texts through voice recognition. The buttons are big, making them easy to hit and minimizing the time your eyes are off the road," it mentioned.

However, Google is not the first company to release in-car infotainment system. Apple has also announced CarPlay, which will be rolling out this year.
