Wireless Phone and Car Charging Technology in cars by Daimler and Qualcomm Inc.

With the amplification in the technological advancements, the automobile industries are looking forward to inculcate the latest technologies in the automobiles, and make them more attractive and advantageous to the customers.

Daimler, parent company of Mercedes Benz, along with Qualcomm is looking for to have technologies that will facilitate wireless charging of mobile phones in the car while driving. On the other hand, the partnership between Daimler and Qualcomm also strives to develop wireless charging of electric vehicles (EV) and plug in hybrid electric vehicles without even having to plug them in.

The companies are also exploring technologies that will enable the customer to enhance their in-car experience through high speed 3G/4G connectivity.

Thomas Weber, Daimler's board member for research and development, said, "It is important that we remain on the cutting edge of technology and continue to deliver un-parallel experiences to our customers. With this i mind, we are eager to jointly explore possible fields to future cooperation with an internationally leading tech firm like Qualcomm".

Thus, the partnership between carmaker Daimler and mobile technologies company Qualcomm Inc. strives to develop wireless recharging of mobile phones in cars as well as recharging of electric cars without cables.
