Chinese Herbal Soup Cuts Fatigue In Cancer Patients, Study
While a cancer patient faces excruciating fatigue, Ren Shen Yangrong Tang (RSYRT) is a conventional herbal Chinese soup with 12 herbs that can bring down his tiredness in just a couple of weeks, according to medindia.
The Chinese experts consider that fatigue is due to a deficiency of Qi, a physical life force that is linked to the energy flow of the body. The soup, RSYRT, can rev up energy after a patient goes through Qi deficiency.
Yichen Xu and colleagues from Peking University School of Oncology in Beijing, China, along with Xin Shelley Wang from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, US, tested the safety and effectiveness of the herbal mixture Ren Shen Yangrong Tang (RSYRT), and showed how the fatigue of cancer patients can shoot up before and come down after RSYRT therapy.
To study RSYRT, patients were given the medicine twice a day for six weeks. Results showed that it was effective and safe with no side-effects or toxicity, in a study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.
