Adrian Peterson will not be present at the Minnesota Vikings' optional team practices this week. The running back, who was reinstated by the NFL Commission Roger Goodell last month, reportedly informed head coach Mike Zimmer that he does not plan on going to the practices, which begin Tuesday.

Charles Robinson with Yahoo! Sports reported that Peterson will voluntarily skip the entire offseason program. It is unclear whether or not Peterson will skip mandatory minicamps, which take place from June 16-18. If he chooses, he will be fined $14,155 for the first day, $24,300 for the second day and $36,465 for the third.

Throughout the offseason, Peterson and his agent have been very vocal about his wishes to depart the Vikings. According to the reports, Peterson did not feel like the organization supported him enough during his child abuse charges last season. The Vikings, however, have remained firm on keeping the star running back on the team.

Peterson attended the OTAs last summer but has skipped them in the past. If he is a no-show this year, it could cost him a $250,000 workout bonus, USA TODAY Sports reported.

Over the past weeks, several reports surfaced explaining why Peterson wants to leave Minnesota. Some of these reports claimed that Peterson wants a new start for his family at a new place. Others claim that he has lost trust in Vikings executive Kevin Warren.

Peterson is due $12.75 million next season and still has three seasons left on his contract.
