Snakes on a train scare a New York commuters
Could there be anything scarier than seeing a huge snake on your subway ride back home from work? Well, that is exactly what happened to one New York City commuter.
A passenger by the name of Eric Hertzog posted a picture on Instagram of the pair of reptiles he snapped on a subway train.
He captured an unidentified man sitting opposite on his mobile phone, casually handling the snakes throughout his journey on 14 October.
"I just thought to myself, is that a snake hanging on the train?" said Hertzog, who snapped pictures on his phone for Instagram with the hashtag "#s-gotreal.
The man had a large snake, about six feet long, between his legs, and let another one about three feet long dangle from a pole.
"One rider started to sit down, and then realized what he was trying to say," said Hertzog. "Then that guy ran to the other side of the subway car...It was some good entertainment on the way home from work."
Others riders' reactions ranged from being puzzled to not caring - while others burst out laughing.

"Subway rats beware," said Gene Russianoff of the Straphangers Campaign. "That's not a really thin transit rider."
Any pets in the transit system are required to be in a carrier, unless they are a service animal like a seeing-eye dog.
"This behavior appears to violate Section 1050.9(h)(1) of the MTA New York City Transit Rules of Conduct- or as we call it, the Samuel L. Jackson Rule," said MTA spokesman Adam Lisberg, referring to the cult 2006 flick, "Snakes on a Plane."
