NBA Rumors: Dallas Mavericks Chandler Parsons Recruiting DeAndre Jordan?

It is no secret that Chandler Parsons likes to recruit when he is not practicing or rehabbing from an injury.

When Parsons was a Rocket, he reportedly helped bring Dwight Howard over to Houston and now, Parsons might be trying to recruit key players like LA Clippers DeAndre Jordan in the summer.

Parsons recently sat down with KESN-FM 103.3 and spoke about recruiting and his recovery progress from knee surgery. The 26-year-old small forward was asked if he thought he could get Jordan, who becomes a free agent in July, to come to Dallas.

Parsons replied, "I'm very close with DeAndre. Obviously he's a free agent and we share the same agent. There's a lot of good players out there. We have a lot of good players on our current roster. We just gotta take it slow. I have no problem going out there and talking with guys. It's always a fun time to see what happens, see who goes where."

When asked how he would sell the Mavericks to other players, Parsons stated, "We have championship expectations. We have a great coach, a great staff and I think we have the best owner in sports that's willing to do whatever it takes to make the guys happy and to compete for a championship. I think we got a good thing going here and have a chance to play with one of the best players ever in Dirk. And we've got a lot of good guys that are going to be coming back. I think it's a good situation and it'll be fun to see what happens."

Parsons is still recovering from knee surgery. Although there is no set return timetable, Parsons hopes to be ready for training camp. As of right now, the swelling in his knee is down and his body is "responding very well."

Parsons sustained the knee injury toward the end of the regular season. He played in two games in the Western Conference quarterfinals against his former team, the Rockets, but his knee prevented him from playing at his best. Parsons added that contrary to what people might believe, he is very happy for the Rockets' success in the playoffs so far.

Instead of focusing on what could have been, Parsons remains very optimistic for his future.

He said, "I'm gonna use this as a blessing in disguise and work on all areas of my game and get my body to being 100 percent fresh, strong as it's ever been. I look forward to having a great summer and having an even better year next year. It'll be a good time."
