Rebel Wilson Real Age: Australian Actress is 35, Not 29 But Does It Really Matter?
Actress Rebel Wilson is 35 not 29, according to reports published Wednesday.
The "Pitch Perfect" star recently hit headlines after Woman's Day editors printed an article alleging Wilson's real last name is Bownds and stating her age as 35, instead of 29.
The Australian magazine was told that the Pitch Perfect star is not 29.
"..No-one knew of a Rebel Wilson. Her name is - or was - Melanie Elizabeth Bownds, and she's 36 - she was born in 1979 and we left school in 1997." spilled the source who claimed to have studied with Rebel at Tara Anglican School for Girls in North Parramatta.
The Woman's Day magazine also says that Rebel has exaggerated stories of her "bogan" childhood, quoting some interviews with former school friends and a high school yearbook photo.
An old classmate says that no one remembers Rebel being humorous, she had a "very normal, upper-middle-class upbringing" and "has added a touch of "fantasy" to the life she lead before becoming a household name."
"She's clearly got a vivid imagination ... Maybe you have to tell stories to make it in Hollywood!" the source told the mag. Too, a photo of Melanie Bownds was provided with a plaque that states: "1997 Year 12 Commonwealth Bank Debtaing (sic) Team."
The actress responded on Twitter by joking about that matter.
