The 2014-15 NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry was fined $5,000 for flopping in game 1 of the Western Conference Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets.

The NBA announced Wednesday that Curry had violated the league's anti-flopping rule after making a 3-point shot with 3:07 remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter in Tuesday's game. Curry was bumped slightly by Rockets' Terrence Jones and fell dramatically while trying to draw the foul call.

The referees did not catch the flopping during the game. However, officials reviewed the play and found Curry guilty. This is the first time since the league adopted new flopping rules that Curry has been fined.

The 3-pointer gave the Warriors the 106-97 lead. The Warriors ended up winning 110-106.

Curry finished with 34 points, five assists and six rebounds. He made six of his 11 three-point attempts and went 13-for-22.

Game 2 of the series will be on Thursday, May 21 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
