Bill Nye Tells Students To Dismiss Global Warming ‘Skeptics
Bill Nye the "Science Guy" told the Rutgers University students during his commencement speech to dismiss those who would question the consensus on man-made global warming.
"We are now deep in the most serious environmental crisis in human history,'' Nye said to a crowd of 35,000 at High Point Solutions Stadium during Rutgers' 249th anniversary commencement.
"The oncoming trouble is climate change. It is going to affect you all in the same way the second World War consumed people of my parents' generation. They rose to the challenge and so will you.''
NJ.com noted that Nye didn't just make the one statement. He said that ours could be a "no-way-out overheated globe."
He concluded: "Climate change is a real deal. So, hey deniers -- cut it out, and let's get to work."
Rutgers paid Nye $35,000 to speak at this year's graduation at its New Brunswick campus. Nye was also given an honorary Doctor of Science degree during the ceremony.
He has been actively dismissing global warming skeptics. For Earth Day, Nye flew with President Barack Obama on Air Force One to Florida's Everglades to highlight how global warming was damaging such environments.
