Jon Gosselin Seeking Custody of Only One of his Eight Children
Jon Gosselin is seeking custody of only one of his eight children, US Weekly reported. E! News added that Gosselin has filed papers in Berks County, PA.
The magazine stated that Gosselin, who is the father from TLC's reality TV show, "Jon and Kate Plus 8" - which was canceled in 2009 - wants full custody of his 11-year-old daughter, Hannah.
Gosselin's attorney, Kristen Doleva-Lecher told the publication, "Jon's priority is what is best for the kids... [He will] fight for them. Jon is currently not commenting on the situation. His focus remains on his children."
Gosselin has not spoken about this custody battle and why he is only seeking custody for one child. E! News is citing a source stating that Gosselin is filing these papers because Hannah reportedly told him she was not happy.
"Jon is filing for custody because Hannah has expressed she is unhappy and uncomfortable in the house with Kate Gosselin," the source said. "In a perfect world, Jon would take all the kids, but he's not in a position to. For now, he's at least trying to help Hannah. Out of all the children, she's the one voicing her discomfort."
The insider added, "So far, Jon has been tight-lipped about this because he's not seeking media attention. It's just about helping his daughter."
Gosselin and his former wife, Kate, raised their eight children (a pair of twins and sextuplets) in front of the cameras. The couple divorced in 2009 and Kate has had primary custody of the children. Kate and the children also star in a revamped version of their original show, titled "Kate Plus 8."
Kate is currently dating millionaire Jeff Prescott and Gosselin is reportedly single.
