Sometimes, domestic violence continues to hurt long after it's stopped. But for Melissa Dohme who got engaged to her savior, things turned out to be a dream, according to tv.bamargera.

Three years ago, the Florida woman was attacked viciously, with her boyfriend stabbing her 32 times in the neck and face, and leaving her in a pool of blood near Crest Lake Park in Clearwater. Cameron Hill was one of the EMTs who rushed in to save her, with his team. He said that though he could not see her face for blood and he didn't know her name, he did feel that they would meet again.

Melissa was not able to recover quickly, and was laid up in hospital for three weeks, 'flat-lining' four times and remaining partially paralyzed on one side of her face. She was pumped with 12 units of blood, and suffered a stroke that threw her off her balance.

After being discharged, she tried to revive her life. She had been just 20 when attacked. She returned to school, and toured Europe.

Feeling that she had a connection with one of the First Responders, Cameron, she bumped into him again during the Fall of 2012, when she spoke at a church gathering. They connected immediately.

He surprised his girlfriend with a proposal in front of thousands during a baseball Tampa Bay Rays game on Monday night, according to independent. She was asked to throw out the first pitch, but the field threw some magic at her.

Find out all about it in the video below, and see why she felt that life could give some good punches to you, sometimes.
