"I'll Eat It, Drink It, Smoke It, Snort It", Morgan Freeman on his Marijuana Use
In an interview to the Daily Beast, actor Morgan Freeman showed his support for the movement to legalize marijuana.
Speaking about the use of pot, Freeman said marijuana unlike alcohol has "many useful uses."
"They used to say, 'You smoke that stuff, boy, you get hooked!' " Freeman said with a laugh. "My first wife got me into it many years ago. How do I take it? However it comes! I'll eat it, drink it, smoke it, snort it!"
The actor was involved in a painful car crash in 1997 when his Nissan Maxima lost control and flipped several times. He was admitted to the hospital with a shattered left shoulder, elbow and arm
Freeman continues to wear a compression glove in his left hand to prevent blood pooling.
"I have fibromyalgia pain in this arm, and the only thing that offers any relief is marijuana," he continued. "They're talking about kids who have grand mal seizures, and they've discovered that marijuana eases that down to where these children can have a life. That right there, to me, says, 'Legalize it across the board!' "
He also gave the example of Woodstock Festival to highlight how the use of marijuana can make life easier.
"Look at Woodstock 1969. They said, 'We're not going to bother them or say anything about smoking marijuana,' and not one problem or fight. Then look at what happened in '99," Freeman said, referring to the arrests and unrest at the anniversary concert.
