Miley Cyrus recently told AP that not all her relationships are with straight men or 'heterosexual' people thus inspiring her to build the Happy Hippie Foundation aimed at providing sanctuary for marginalized and homeless members of the LGBT group.

The entertainer who started as a Hannah Montana star when she was 14 years old said that she wanted to use her influence to promote LGBT rights.

"It's not going to be an overnight process. You've got to get into a lot of people's brains and you've got to really make this a topic," she said.

As to her dating preferences, the We Can't Stop singer never denied having relationships with both sexes.

In an interview with Time, she said: "There are times in my life where I've had boyfriends or girlfriends. And there are times where I just love being with myself and don't want to give part of myself away to someone else ... I think that's a new freedom for women, especially.

She also told in another interview with Out that she is, sometimes, tired of getting along with gender conventions and she hates being labelled a girl or a boy.

"I didn't want to be a boy. I kind of wanted to be nothing. I don't relate to what people would say defines a girl or a boy, and I think that's what I had to understand: Being a girl isn't what I hate, it's the box that I get put into," she shared.

Meanwhile, the Wrecking Ball singer remembered that dying her armpits pink is part of her statement to uphold equality and promote love for oneself for everybody.

"The pink pits are saying, 'Don't tell me what to do. It's back to what I'm preaching in a way, you know, telling these kids. I'm not just saying you be yourself and I'm going to go be Miley Cyrus. I'm saying I'm going to be my (expletive) self, too."
