Lindsay Lohan Fails to Show Up for Community Service Work Because It's 90 Minutes From Her London Home
The troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has only done a tiny portion of her court ordered community service while she was placed on probation for a reckless driving case and will face "consequences," according to new reports released Friday.
Lohan, 28, is on probation for reckless driving and lying to police after crashing her Porsche sports car on Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica on her way to a film shoot in 2012.
Earlier this week it was revealed Lindsay had completed just 9 hours and 45 minutes of the required 125 hours she needs to complete before May 28 and with around 20 days left, it is essential she begins to put in the hours in order to avoid prison time.
Following the accident in 2012, the "Mean Girls" actress received the community service hours as part of a plea deal. The following year, Lohan entered rehab for a three-month period in the Summer of 2013 and had to complete community service to stay out of jail.
She was able to complete the allocated time in rehab, however, she has not been so diligent with her community service hours.
According to a TMZ reports, the reason why she has been unable to fulfill the allocated hours is because the place she needs to go in order to do the service is a 90 minute drive from her current home in London. The community service work she is supposed to be doing entails her working at a charity that helps neglected children and disabled adults in London.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mark A. Young reportedly agreed to allow Lohan, 28, to travel to Brooklyn to complete her hours at the Brooklyn Community Center, but warned, "If it is not done by May 28 there will be consequences."
