Google Adds Custom Voice Actions For NPR, Zillow, Shazam

Google has announced custom voice actions for third party apps like NPR, Zillow and Shazam. From now, you could say something like "OK, Google, listen to NPR" and Google app will open up the NPR app to play a new story.

You can also say 'OK Google, Shazam this song' and Google will open up the Shazam app to figure out what the song is.

Some of the early partners in the integration include Flixster, TripAdvisor, Instacart, Lincoln, NPR, TuneIn, Shazam, Trulia, Zillow, and realtor.com. The company is actively seeking additional app developers to join in on the fun.

The Zillow integration will work for local searches as well as housing searches in other cities. You could say something like "Show apartments for rent in Boston on Zillow," and the app will do the needful.
