What could be more fun that comedian and T.V. host Ellen DeGeneres and the classic Dr. Seuss book "Green Eggs and Ham?" How about merging the two together.

Ellen DeGeneres announced on show on Wednesday that she is behind a new Netflix series based on the classic Dr. Seuss book, "Green Eggs and Ham."

"It's going to be cutting-edge animation: It's never been done on television before. It's very, very cool."

DeGeneres will serve as one of the producers on the Netflix series and its unclear whether she will also voice a character in the animated series.

"We think this will be a hit Green Eggs and Ham is a perfect fit for our growing slate of amazing stories available exclusively in all Netflix territories," said Cindy Holland, Netflix's VP of original content in a statement.

According to Verge, "the show will follow inventor Guy and friend Sam-I-Am as they travel on a voyage across the country that "tests the limits of their friendship." If the source material is anything to go by, we'll get to watch Sam-I-Am attempt to force-feed his friend spoiled food in various locations, while we learn how to work with rudimentary rhyming schemes. More plot details are yet to be revealed but - spoiler alert - Netflix says that the characters will eventually eat the eponymous Green Eggs and Ham."

As a tribute to the talented author Dr. Seuss - whose real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel - Netflix released the following excerpt in his rhythmic writing style:

"In this richly animated production,

a 13-episode introduction,

standoffish inventor (Guy, by name)

and Sam-I-Am of worldwide fame,

embark on a cross-country trip

that tests the limits of their friendship.

As they learn to try new things,

they find out what adventure brings.

Of course they also get to eat

that famous green and tasty treat!

You can stream it on a phone.

You can stream it on your own."

You can stream it on TV.

You can stream it globally."

Don't hold your breath though, the 13-episode series isn't expected to debut until 2018.
