Taylor Swift has made a 12-year-old Chicago girl with cancer smile from ear to ear and for a good reason.

Emily Beazley has received an outpouring of love and support throughout her battle with cancer. The 12-year-old from Chicago had a street named after her and she's been made an honorary member of the Chicago PD.

To add to that, Grammy-award winning singer Taylor Swift decided to give Beazley a call.

"The smile on my daughter [is one] I have not seen in a very, very long time," her mother Nadia Beazley told NBC Chicago. "I could cry."

One of Emily's greatest wishes was to talk to her idol, Taylor Swift.

"We would be here all day if I told you why I liked her," Beazley said of the singer earlier this week.

Emily has non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Friends and family have been appealing to Taylor through social media to call Emily, including a video with about 200 children singing and dancing to Taylor songs.

Emily's mother, Nadia Beazley, says her daughter had "the biggest smile" and "jumped up and down" after the Grammy Award winner's call.
