A Selfie Arm May Extend A Hand But Not Look Friendly

So you like selfie arms, and you can stretch out your hand for your own handshake to brighten up your photos. And what if it is a dead arm, you say.

People are debating whether selfie arms in photographs are good or not. While selfie sticks look so cold that they have been banned in Wimbledon, Australian galleries and the Kentucky Derby, among other spots, the selfie arm makes your picture look as if you're not so lonely, according to gizmodo.

However, it is also depressing, because you don't have a friend, and do not want a stranger to come in between you and your shot. It does make you more lonely. It also looks dead, grey and cold---like a ghost. Do you want to hold hands with a ghost, anyway?

Yet the selfie arm, that has been thought up by artists Aric Snee and Justin Crowe, according to designboom, is not the regular selfie stick as it becomes part of your photo, and makes viewers think that you're holding hands with someone. It is a step forward from the totally dead world of lonely photographs, after all.

Moreover, it is so far just a "prototype"---supposedly a "sarcastic" commentary on our need to constantly show the internet that we exist, according to mashable.
