Would you exchange your iPhone 6 for a home? Detroit man is hoping someone will
Do you have an iPhone 6 that you willing to trade for a house? Well, one man in Detroit is looking for someone who will do just that.
"It's a real listing," realtor Larry Else told My Fox Detroit. "My client is overseas and he told me he would be willing to trade the property for an iPhone 6. It sounds to me like he wants the [iPhone 6+] version, but I think he's willing to negotiate."
The homeowner would also consider a 32 gigabyte iPad, or he would likely be happy to sell for $3,000, according to the home's listing on Zillow.
The three-bedroom, one-and-a-half bathroom brick colonial on Britain and Lainge is a real fixer-upper. But it does have "gems" as Zillow.com mentions, including a finished basement, a plush garden, and city views from the upper deck.
"It needs to be torn down," said Ameir Walker, who lives nearby, according to My Fox Detroit.
"I work on houses, so I would love to have it for that," said Jamal Kemp. "It doesn't take a lot of money to fix these houses back up. I would (be willing to buy it)."
The home is vacant and appears to have been scavenged by thieves. It sits on a block dominated by abandoned houses. And the owner owes $6,160 in property taxes, according to Wayne County records.
This deal won't last forever; the realtor says this house will stay on the market until Wayne County forecloses on the property and this may take place in 2015.
