Brianne Altice Update: Utah Teacher Confesses to Rape of Three Underaged Students
Brianne Altice couldn't hold back her tears on Wednesday as she admitted to having sex with three of her students between the ages of 16 and 17.
Altice sobbed as she accepted the plea agreement on Wednesday, according to a report released
She was accused sexually abusing one 16-year-old and two 17-year-old boys while she was an English teacher at Davis High School.
The former Davis High School teacher pleaded guilty to three counts of forcible sex abuse, in exchange for having 11 other sex charges dropped, including three first-degree felony rape charges that carried potential life sentences, according to Fox 13.
"I'm not sure that I'm happy that from 14 felonies, it's gone down to three, but at least she did admit that she was guilty," one victim's mother told KSL.
According the reports, Altice met the three boys on separate occasions and what began as kissing in her Kaysville, Ut., classroom evolved into sex at parks as well as in her car.
Altice was out on bail during most of the criminal proceedings until allegations emerged earlier this year that she had sex with the third victim following her 2013 arrest. A judge ordered her to jail, where she's been for the three months.
Altice is scheduled to be sentenced on May 28. Each count carries a possible sentence of 1 to 15 years in prison, according to the Associated Press.
