Five Nights at Freddy's Update: Movie Adaptation May NOT Stick to Game's Plot
Five Nights at Freddy's, the popular horror-survival video game is set for movie adaption but it is not known if it will stick to the original plot on big-screen.
Warner Bros. bagged the rights to the film which will be produced by Vertigo Entertainment. While the producers say they are keen to work with the game's creator Scott Cawthon, it is not know if the original plot would be retained as rumors have suggested that the filmmakers may change the plot to better suit theatre audiences.
"We're looking forward to working with Scott to make an insane, terrifying and weirdly adorable movie," Seth Grahame-Smith one of the slated producers reportedly said according to Christian Today.
The 2014 smash-hit game is about animatronics which kill humans during the night at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza restaurant. Players don the role of a midnight security guard and have to survive the onslaught. Freddy Fazbear is the most dreaded of the animatronics among Bonnie, Chica and Foxy.
Cawthon is convinced that the game is perfect for movie adaption. "The story really lends itself to being a movie, and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to," he reportedly said.
It remains to be seen if the rumors prove true.
